Pozzallo: the award-winning beach that never stops surprising us!

Pozzallo is a wonderful and suggestive seaside place near Modica. It is the ideal destination for people of all ages! Pozzallo: what to see, what to do and how to reach it

Pozzallo has very ancient origins, but its best years date back around 1500, when the Count of Modica decided to have a tower built to defend the city. We are talking about the famous Torre Cabrera, symbol of Pozzallo! The construction, however, was then almost completely destroyed by the earthquake in 1693. However, it is possible to see its ruins in their original location.

Do not miss two other very important monuments of Pozzallo. The first is the Church of Santa Maria di Portosalvo, famous for its architecture characterized by the artistic union between the original and the modern facade.

The second monument is Villa Tedeschi, symbol of the lineage that dominated Pozzallo, which today houses the municipal library.

After a day full of art, there is nothing more regenerating than a swim in the clear waters of Pozzallo, awarded twice with the Green Flag by the Italian paediatricians association, for being child-friendly.

But even the beach has a record: it has been aawarded with the Blue Flag 14 times! Pozzallo is definitely one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy, equipped with every type of comfort: sunbeds and umbrellas, refreshment points, beach volleyball fields and water aerobics courses for young and old. And for those who are still full of energy in the evening, there are numerous night clubs on the waterfront.

Reaching Pozzallo is quite simple. From the nearby Marina di Ragusa it is possible to arrive in just half an hour by car, driving along the suggestive SP127 and SP64, along the coast. The journey is also easy from Modica and Ispica, with buses leaving from both the towns.
